Effects of Snow and Ice on my nets?

We do not yet have enough experience to predict the effects snow and ice will have on barrier nets. The few opinions we were able to consult, commented that freezing water on the nylon would acellerate the detioriation.  The tennis clubs that bring the nets in during the winter claimed it increased the lifetime from 5-years to 10-years.

One undeniable problem will be nets attempting prevent the snow from sliding off the modules. This will damage the nets and possibly the solar panels.

In areas where snow accumulates on solar panels, we recommend removing the nets during winter.  

Unclipping the nets for storage should be considered part of the pre-winter preparation.
