How can I stop birds from pulling thread from my net perimeter?

The SolarNet Buffet

Who would have guessed small birds would find the thread from solar nets useful for nesting?  Well this guy started visiting the "Net Buffet" within days. He is pulling the small thread from the perimeter rope stitching.

If left unchecked, the overlock stitching will no longer attach the smaller net fabric to the perimeter rope.

Not to fear.  A Net Protector Sleeve can be slipped over the outside edges of the net.  Net protectors are available for white and black nets at solarnets.com

Once held in place with a few UV resistant zip ties at the end and every two feet along the edge, all should be well.

Even if the birds continue to attack  the uncovered corner sections, the main net will not be compromised.
