How To Prevent Sag On SolarNets?
Last updated atÂ
Large nets often sag on cool moist mornings. There are a few techniques that can minimize the net sag:
(1) Install the support wires according to the installer diagram from SolarNets. Use the Zip Tensioners to lock in the support wire making it taut to remove all droop in the support wire span.
(2) Install nets during the cool time of the day.
(3) Wet the net before installation and tensioning. This causes the net to be most pliable.
(4) Hook the nets on the corner brackets first. This gives insight into the net coverage, showing if the net is large or small compared to the array size. Twist the corner carabiners a few times as needed to uptake the excess net.
(5) Go around one time and hook the net onto the side brackets. Go around a second time and use the "buritto roll" technique to consume excess net, then hook the carabiner around the buritto when connecting it to the side brackets. Repeat as needed untill net is tight
(6) If possible, return the next morning to confirm sag, and retighten as needed.
Below is a picture of a well-tensioned net, including net support wires running diagonally between the corner net support brackets.

The Support Wire loops are attached to regular Side or Corner Net Support Brackets. They can be strung length wise or diagonally under the nets.
The Cinch Adjusters allow wire to be inserted only one direction, and when pulled tight, will hold the tension.

The wire is put through one hole of the Cinch Adjuster, looped through the hookeye on the net support bracket, then back through the second hole on the Cinch Adjuster. Once the loop is created, it can be tightened further, but can not relaxed.
